Come make the PowerShift in 2008!
Please check back after January 1st when we plan to announce our 2008 PowerShift National Tour!
We all know the problem. Global Warming and our continued dependence on fossil fuels threaten our future. This crisis has many Americans concerned. But what can you do about such a huge global challenge? Demand a PowerShift!
Last year's PowerShift National Tour (our second) explored promising solutions to the U.S. oil addiction which endangers our national security, economy and environment. These events are primarily run by our student Regional Directors and promise to be fun and moving as well as educational. In 2008, we're expanding the tour to look at other forms of energy and how we can limit global warming while enhancing security.
Come be a part of PowerShift and get the knowledge and skills to tackle the global energy challenge. Together, we CAN make an impact and find sensible solutions for a brighter future.

Oil Shockwave simulation of how a presidential cabinet would respond to an oil crisis. PowerShift 2006 in Kalamazoo, MI. Former CIA Director Jim Woolsey (center) played the president.
PowerShift events look at oil dependency and global warming as a national security, environmental and economic issue. By doing so, we can bridge the gap between federal and state decision-makers, industry, farmers, environmentalists, students and the public. This forum explores some promising solutions (such as alternative fuels, new automobile technologies and demand reductions) and national policies that can reduce oil consumption. Now is the time to pull these issues together and show Americans how their energy choices can affect the economy, their health and national security.
